Police arrested Arnold Projansky, 80 of Lake City, UT, this morning and charged him with making a terroristic threat, a felony.
According to police, a teacher encountered a suspicious man on school property, whom police believe to be Projansky, and asked him to leave, at which point it is alleged that the man made a threatening comment involving a gun that caused the teacher to be concerned for student safety, causing the school to go into lockdown.
Responding officers located the suspect nearby.
Projansky was taken into custody and transported to the station for processing. Projansky was cooperative with the investigation and was not found to have any weapons.
“Through the investigation, there is not any reason to believe that there was any credibility to Mr. Projansky’s comments nor any concern to public safety” Chief Joe Snyder said.
Projansky was arraigned and released to appear on May 9 at 6 p.m. in New Paltz Town Court.
